2024 was a significant year of investment and growth at Logic Wodonga, with the precinct reaching important milestones that have helped it grow into a hub of innovation, sustainability and economic development.
As interest from investors continues to increase, Logic is strengthening its position as a key location for logistics and business activity in Australia.
Over the last 12 months, the council considered, supported and approved several land sales at Logic, enabling a variety of new projects across different industries. These include businesses such as Released Energy, Killen Trucking Company, Hydroxy Systems, I.D. Wright Investments, and Vic Cans Australia.
Killen Trucking Company, a family-owned business specialising in animal by-products and general freight, will join Logic’s existing network of transport and logistics businesses. Meanwhile Hydroxy Systems are planning to establish a plastics recycling facility within the precinct, contributing to Logic’s focus on creating a circular economy.
Upcoming business I.D. Wright Investments will specialise in the manufacturing of textured concreate panels and coating. Another addition to Logic, Vic Cans Australia, will offer quality solutions to metal and plastic packaging, utilising high-grade materials.
Director of Infrastructure and Growth, Leon Schultz, highlighted the emerging trends driving Logic’s development.
“These land sales reflect confidence in Logic and a focus on sustainability, logistics and pioneering Australian-first projects,” he said.
“Logic is attracting significant businesses like Xlam, which runs Australia’s first cross-laminated timber manufacturing facility, and Released Energy, which is developing the country’s first water-based battery plant,” Mr Schultz added.
“These projects are creating jobs throughout the regions, encouraging innovation and supporting sustainable growth.”
Another innovative company, Re4orm Recycling, is cementing Logic’s leadership in sustainability. Re4orm Recycling provides a cutting-edge solution for recycling synthetic turf, ensuring artificial surfaces are reused rather than discarded in landfill.
Logic’s reputation as a major logistics hub continues to grow with established operators like SCT Logistics, Primary Connect, and EastCoast Freight Concepts. The precinct’s infrastructure supports businesses with features such as trailer interchanges and fatigue management facilities, making it an attractive location for transport operators.
“Logic has become a key hub for transport and logistics in Australia,” said Mr Schultz. “The range of operators here demonstrates how the precinct’s infrastructure and planning support businesses to grow and succeed.”
Beyond logistics, Logic is also supporting innovation through education. The Wodonga TAFE Logical Innovation Precinct focuses on advanced manufacturing, heavy vehicle technology and autonomous vehicles, ensuring that businesses at Logic have access to training and a skilled local workforce.
“Our partnership with Wodonga TAFE supports the local industry and workforce development,” Mr Schultz explained. “By providing modern facilities and opportunities for collaboration, we’re helping businesses at Logic stay competitive and be prepared for the future.”
With continued progress and the establishment of new projects, Logic is emerging as a centre for innovation and opportunity.
Looking ahead, Logic Wodonga is well-positioned for sustained growth, set to make a positive impact on the region in the years to come.
